Day one done...

Sean came out of therapy smiling and honestly beaming. I think he really enjoyed it. I'd go as far to say he was proud of himself. The BCBA (Tiffany) and the line therapist (Danielle) both said he did better than they expected, especially for his first day. I know he's going to have tough days, but I'm glad the first day went well. I'm grateful that I could take him and see his reaction after it was over. Today was a very happy mommy day in my world.

While waiting for him I struck up a conversation with two other autism moms. We talked about therapy and school programs. We traded notes about our experiences. I found out about another possible school program to consider as Sean gets older. Talking to other parents is always so helpful. I was sad to hear that insurance issues have stopped them from getting ABA for their kids at this time. It breaks my heart to think of kids that need this treatment, but can't have it. I'm so very thankful today.

  1. I'm so glad he had a great first day, and hope there are many many more ahead of him.
